No update about taking the bun (though if the boy knows what's good for him....) but I thought I'd related something that just happened. So one of our dogs started barking and Bunbun didn't care for that so he shot under the futon. After I let the dog out I laid on the floor to get Bunbun to come out. He came out, sniffed me, and then started humping my shoulder >_<; My mom came in the room and he did a binky like he was proud that he had humped me lol.

So I guess in the next few months I'll need to take him to the vet to get his work up and fixing hopefully. He's at least 2 years old so we have to make sure he's healthy enough. My friend pays for a lot of stuff for Bunbun and he's already agreed to pay for the vet visit to get his health certificate for the plane ride. Hopefully we can get Bun fixed in the next few months.

Moving up!

Well, we finally moved into our new house!! This is Boomer's 3rd move with us if you count us bringing him home for the first time :)

- We had an appartment which was perfect for Boomer as it was mostly carpeted.
- Then we moved into a rented house 3 years ago that was one floor and all hardwood, Boomer adapted well and even had his very own room with an area rug.

Now, we live in a 2 floor house that is all hardwood/tile with hardwood stairs. I was stressed out about the stairs because I didn't want him falling down them and also the house is just too much space for him, we would need 3 litter boxes at least to ensure coverage! Well, Boomer seems to have worked that out for himself. He has claimed the upstairs bathroom/laundryroom as his home and is very content with being an upstairs bunny. I have a baby-gate so he doesn't fall down the stairs when we're not home, and the whole upper floor is completely safe for him, no wires whatsoever (plus, there's less he can destroy).

Surprisingly, he has really steady footng on the bathroom tiles, they're a rougher finish and he doens't slip on them as much as hardwood so he's quite happy being a bathroom bunny so to say. And there's even a nice spot behind the shower with shelves where I can put his litterbox out of sight and store his food and supplies :) Couldn't be better and now he can visit us at night when we're sleeping, which I love :)

Pictures soon :)

Yep that's right. I can't even get a female pet. The fish are all male, except for the one girl and thats just not the same. Scooped her up last night and found a big ol' testicle. Then checked her/him over to find a penis.   Well now I have to get used to calling him Ivan and saying him and his. It sucks cause when she was a a baby when I got her and the guy in the store said it was a girl but still could be a boy cause it is hard to tell when they are that young. We checked him regularly for months and gave up satisfied she was a girl.  And it's a good thing I decided to call around and get prices and such before just dropping into a vets office. He a lot of them say flat out in the add "small animal care'' last I checked a rabbit was a small animal, but they don't see them. took me a half hour to find someone that does that isn't all the way out in Bf Egypt (still pretty close though, they want a $45 office visit. The bunny wasn't $45. I believe "him and all his stuff came in under $80. Every office I called the OV was $14- $15. Oh he will have to be neutered cause he has one nut. Yes one, uno, singular tehy are supposed to drop all at once, so he is cryptorchid. heh the neuter $145. Yay. this will have to wait till sfter Christmas. I will check with the Humane Society and see if they will do it any cheaper. Ivan, Ivan, Ivan.**sigh** I still love my bun bun.

Thanks for the advice about the burrowing. My bf and I made bunny a condo out of those office crates and she seems to love it. The massive burrowing has stopped now that her cage is bigger. I actually stuck the bottom of the other smaller cage inside the bigger one and she seems to like using that as her litter box. I filled it will hay so she has a big are to graze and poop and pee. And so far the litter training is going well. When we let her loose in the house, she tends to go back to her cage to poop and pee 90% of the time. I only found a few poops around the house so far. But at least those are easier to deal with them cat poop. And speaking of cats, my kittens are adjusting to the bunny well. One of my kittens (Toki) was able to cuddle next to me on couch last night with bunny a foot away from her (bunny was on my bf). And it seems like bunny is happy and adjusting well too. She did numerous binkys last night. It was cute. I never get bored watching her hop around my living room.

So, when I went to collect Ms Hadley this afternoon, my teacher brought her out, and she was filthy. I mean, it is not what you want to see when you've left your bunny with someone.

Backstory: I had to go to Fiji with my family for the fisrt week of these school holidays. So I left Ms Hadley with my Agriculture teacher, on the school farm, which is where I got her from, because we breed them. So, I took her up on the last Friday of school, and I got back yesterday, so we went up to get her today.

Anyway, he brings her out, and she is covered in mud, like she's been living in filth for a week, but it turns out it was something even more upsetting. Apparently someone broke into the farm last night and opened the cages for all the animals. So all the rabbits, all the chickens, and the pig, etc. They were loose on the farm when he got there this morning. He managed to get the pig back, and round up all the chickens. But it took him significantly longer to catch the rabbits, and two of 12 are still missing. I caught one while I was there; Hadley's dad, Kevin. But it means hey were in the paddocks durning the storm last night, when it rained and was heaps windy.

She was a bit dazed and confused when I took her home, but she seems to have settled now that she's back in her cage. She had to have a bath though, which she was not impressed with, and spent the next two hours cleaning herself, and glaring at me. But I gave her some straw, so she seems to have forgiven me for now.

This is what she looked like when I brought her home. I don't think you can see all of the mud though, some of it had come off on the ride home.

Bath in the tub.

Not a happy bunny.

One ear forward, one ear back...way back.

She stopped running around for a face scratch.

Trying to make friends after the bath incident.

But she got pulled in for snuggle shots. :P

Eeep.

Being eaten by mama.

Chair sniffing.

Fatty fatty bunny.

Cleaning, after our bath.

Sqiush by lead.

Smooshy huggles, ...with our nicely stained brown feet. God, that is so annoying, cause we have a photoshoot for a magazine tomorow, and she is going to have brown feet. :(

Happily eating hay, like the bathing never happened. :D

Dear Smirnoff, my love.

I know the bed is large and bouncy and wonderful for binkying on, and I'm in no way complaining that your happy. It's rather cute to watch you jumping around on my bed.

Just, please, not whilst I'm in it?

You see, you have this habit of landing on my head.

Also, please don't use the dog as a step-up/down onto and off the bed. He doesn't enjoy being jumped on.

Finally, can we please learn to use the litter box? Yes, you always go in the cage but cage =/= litterbox and it would be a lot easier to clean out if you learnt that.

Lots of love and head scratches,

Abigail

My mom's Bride of Frankenstein Hallowe'en costume is hanging around and he loves messing around in it. I catch him digging and nibbling all the time.

Always a bunny, never a bride.

I took Lilly to the vet yesterday after noticing she had a slight head tilt. She's now been diagnosed with Pasteurellosis. The vet thinks we caught it early, since Lilly has been eating and pooping normally and had no other symptoms before the head tilt. She's now on three medications, including two that will last for 28 days. Fortunately, she doesn't seem to mind taking them. Her biggest complaint about it seems to be having to sit still in my lap instead of her usual hopping around.

I've read several articles online so far, but I was wondering if anyone on here has dealt with this with their bunnies. If so, I'd appreciate any advice. Do I need to throw out all of her supplies? Or is it ok to wash her litter box, water bottle, etc.? Can I wash them with vinegar as usual, or do I need to use a chemical cleaner? (I will of course consult my vet on this as well, when they reopen on Monday. I was too stunned and worried yesterday to think of these things.)

eta: I know that the infection is contagious to other bunnies by direct and indirect contact, such as contact of saliva or snot on my clothes. Do you think there's a possibility to spread it even after changing my clothes and washing my hands? I only have one bunny, but I work at an animal shelter. I can stop handling the bunnies there if necessary, but I'm one of the few people in my department who's comfortable handling them, and shelter bunnies need cuddling! It's ok to handle them as long as I'm not wearing what I wore around her, and I've washed my hands and face, right? Or should I take a shower before going to work, too?

Below the cut, a picture of Lilly.

hi, all! does anyone know of a really good urine stain remover? also maybe a good carpet cleaner to get the scents rabbits leave out of a place? i tried one of the steam cleaning carpet machines at my last apartment, which may be good for the latter request, but did little for stubborn old stains.

i may have only one week left with hana and siena. i feel like my heart is going to explode and die. but i think it's for the best. some of you might remember my feuding bunnies post... the 3 rabbits never got along but its to the point where the bonded pair get so annoyed with the single that they turn on each other and fight because they can't reach him. also whenever any of the bunnies are out, playing is secondary to tormenting the other bun and peeing and pooping near his cage.

next week hana and siena may be going back to siena's former house rabbit society foster mom. since with rabbits gone is not forgotten, i'll need to do some extensive cleaning before piere will settle and be less territorial.

i think it's best for everybun involved, but it still breaks my heart.

we'll see.

Recently, I bought a new Softie Reclining chair. My old one finally wore that extra inch from Comfy to Agony.  I went in debt a lot. I am in pain a lot. I spend most of my life in my recliner. Thus, it is a Necessity. It is also the first piece of furniture I have bought new in over eleven years.

Half the reason for the cost, was so that I could get one big enough so I would be able to share with da bunny.

This morning, I heard bunny chewing noises.

I found SOFTIE STUFFING on the floor behind it.

I haven't even started paying for it yet.

Phooka.

My love.

We now return you to your flist already in progress.

Hello, I am new to the community. I'm sorry to start out with a question as opposed to adorable bunny pictures, but I am concerned.

A few days ago I noticed that one of my bunnies has a lot of what looked like ear wax and a bit of redness in one of her ears. Her ears aren't sensitive to the touch and she isn't acting differently from normal. Is this just a normal bunny thing and I need to clean out her ears, or should I take her to a vet? I looked at my other rabbits' ears and none of them have any sort or build up in their ears.

Thanks :)
