Okay, I have two questions.
1) How do I get my rabbits to stop chewing the baseboard mouldings. We just moved into a new place and half the baseboards are wrecked already. I heard something once about putting soap on them?
2) I'm thinking of bringing home a 6 year old cat. He's neutered and declawed and from what I've heard likes other animals (especially dogs). Any suggestions about how to bond the rabbits and the cat? I feel that my two will scare the cat away... :P

For the past couple days Soba's been peeing outside her litterbox... while in her litterbox. She'll scoot herself into a corner, then keep scooting, so that her butt climbs the wall and is hanging over the edge of the box. And then she pees. And a mighty torrential pee, at that. I shriek and run over and reposition her and she looks at me all disapproving like "leave me alone I'm PEEING, lady, wtf?"

I think I need to get her a bigger litter box.

This mom and her babies have been rescued by The Rabbit Haven! They are safe now, but we have just discovered that the mother bunny is pregnant, and will probably have another litter in the next few days.

Once this second litter is born, the mother will stop nursing the older babies and we will have to find adopters and new foster homes for them. We will also have to pay for spay/neuter and medical expenses for all of the babies until they are adopted. If you can provide a home for these babies, please contact Heather at 831-239-7119 or [email protected]. If you wish to make a cash contribution to help with their care, you can donate using PayPal or by check.

This super sweet mother escaped certain death at a meat shop and now needs rescue from the shelter where she was taken. Please look at their pictures and think what you might be able to do to help. Contact us immediately please, she has only two days left at the shelter. We need rescue or adoption for her and her babies, cash for her spay and medical care, and alfalfa hay to keep them fed. They need a space to live. You can find out about how to donate on our donations page. You can also watch the video of the babies!

Did you feel all warm and fuzzy

So I have a question about weight. Milk was spayed on September 26. I went to pick her up from the vet at September 27. When I got her I noticed she had lost weight. Before the spay you could not see the outline of her ribs. Now I'm not saying that I can see her ribs, I'm sayin that I can see where the ribs end. Before the spay you couldn't see where her ribs ended because she was so FAT XD. But now I can. She seems to be eating less now too when before, she would have kept eating and eating. So my question is this:

For those of you who've had your bunnies spayed, have they ever lost weight after the spay? Have they ever lost their appetite after the spay?

And just so this post isn't all boring, here are 2 pics of my bunny Milk, otherwise known as Squishy, cuz when she was fat she was squishy XD!!!

Crap. Srry guyz, imageshack isn't working =(

Hello,

I adopted a bunny on Friday night, and I'm trying to figure out what kind of cage to get him. Right now, I have him in a large animal carrier that is about 6 times his size, but it still seems small with him and his stuff in it. What would be the best type of cage for me to get him?

Here is a picture of my bunneh, Jonas:

I'm thinking of shifting my bunnies to a seasonal diet. My family if adopting a seasonal diet and it feels hypocritical to buy them lettuce and swiss chard in the dead of winter. So the diet would be hay and pellets in the cold months and hay and fresh foods in the growing season. Would this be okay? Does anyone do this? I'll be consulting my vet before I make any final decisions, of course.

so, we'd been thinking about getting a friend for Ned to perhaps cure his antisocial ways. i'd been looking online and the at the local humane society but nothing really caught our attention. we went to an animal supply store and fell in love with a baby albino bun, but we wanted to think about it.

we ended up not getting the albino, but today when we went to go pick up a corner litter box for ned, we were looking at the other buns and played with one we had overlooked before. he's a one year old male, already neutered, and loves pets and cuddling. he was surrendered by his previous owner who couldn't take care of him, and kept getting passed up in favor of the baby buns, but he's so sweet. so $100 later, we came home with Bobby. we're thinking about changing his name to Baxter, and keeping Bobby as his middle name.

Ned: this earned him the nickname "anus mouth"

we brought him home and set up his cage, and then left to go get some more supplies. when we came back, he started racing around his cage, kicking up his litter, and then he thumped. Ned has never thumped, so we couldn't help but pull out the camera. soon after he was done thumping, he came out for cuddles so i think we're forgiven for abandoning him.

he's settled in quite well and is already coming out of his cage on his own/begging to come out, and grooming my pants and sweater. his poops are a little weird, but we're hoping it was just the shock of environment change -- he was only getting hay in the morning (because apparently he eats it until he gets sick. maybe he doesn't know when to stop?) and eats half a cup of pellets every day, and we bought a couple toys and snacks that they said he liked best. he's such a sweet little boy, i'm in lurve.

Minus the new to owning rabbits...=) I have had 4 in the past and now have two of the cutest babies in the world...=)

So, I have these rabbits right, Athena and Odysseus. Odysseus is the sweetest rabbit you could ever find...But Athena is just a little pill. The main problem with her that I'm having is that she's chewing on EVERYTHING! Everything, but her toys (and I've spent a lot of mmoney on those darn toys), including wires, paper, baskets, towels, the carpet...pretty much anything she can get her mouth on.

So, how do you stop a rabbit from chewing the wrong stuff and start chewing the right stuff? If I'm not at school during the day, they're allowed free range in my room with their cage doors open...=) If I am at school, then whenever I get home, I open the cage doors and let them out. I've tried timeouts, treats when she chews on the right stuff, have pretty much bunnyproofed everything, buying different toys, getting different rugs instead of carpets, etc. So if anyone has any ideas, I'm open to suggestions.

The obligatory pictures...=)

So I've had Toboka a week now, she's doing pretty well. She's quite happy for me to stroke her, and she'll come up to the bars so I think she's pretty settled. I've had Lola sitting about a foot away from her hutch in a metal crate thingy so they could at least smell each other but I'm hoping to progress things a little bit.
Where do I start? I don't want to go from them not knowing each other, to being together in the same room or something but I can't put their hutches next to each other like I've heard suggested.
Any tips on what my next move should be?
In return...bunny pictures!

with her beloved dog bed bunny nose! who can resist...

@темы: когти

тут видно пузико и на передних лапах зеленый(!) мех. Что скажете? Хвост у нас пушистый и довольно-таки большой:)

Mickey likes to sit on my chest while I'm lying on the couch. He managed to somehow position himself so he was draped over my shoulder, so I picked up my cell phone and managed to take these two shots:

Click on the pics for a larger version--and apologies for the quality, but that's the best I was going to get trying to take a pic of myself with a cell phone. :)
