I know this probably isn't a big deal to anyone else, but I just wanted to post because I am excited!

Mac finally started coming out of his cage on his own! It was always so stressful to him when I picked him up, so I put the cage on the floor (before, it was on this rolling ramp thing.) I would leave the side door open for hours, but he never seemed interested in coming out. I was letting him hop around the living room tonight, and he kept going back over to his cage and leaning in. I helped him back in, then left him alone. After a bit of trial and error on his part, he's is now jumping in and out of the cage like it is the most fun he's ever had! He seems to have calmed down a lot. He also seems more interested in us. He will cautiously come up to us a sniff a bit. He still gets a bit skittish if we try to pet him while he's out of the cage, but I can already see an improvement.

These were taken a day or two after bringing him home. We didn't have a litter box at the time, so we just put Carefresh all over the cage. Now he has a kitten-sized litter box that he uses.

For some reason, it looks like there was a flash on the camera, but the living room light is just bright. Mac always seems to have that wide-eyed look.

What has now been dubbed the "Mac flop":

We all love when he does it. He'll usually give a big giant yawn and do that bunny flop where they splay their legs out. He loves it because he wasn't really allowed to do that at his old home. He started off as a show rabbit, and for a while he was always in the show position. Now he just flops

Also, I am taking him to the local SPCA either this weekend or early next week to get neutered.
