So, in all the Bella chaos I kind of missed some very important signs Layla was displaying... She is currently in a false pregnancy. I didn't think anything of her digging at first. I just thought she was restless with the stress of being in a new home. When I got home tonight I noticed she had pulled out a lot of her fur, placed it all in her litter box, and moved the litter box in a way that keeps her mostly hidden. It all makes sense now, but I am in need of some advice.
None of my other rabbits have ever had a false pregnancy, as they have been spayed. Layla is still in need of the procedure, and I do plan on getting it done as soon as possible, but I was wondering what I should do with her in her current state? Should I schedule and appointment to have her spayed now or wait until the false pregnancy is over? How long do false pregnancies normally last? Is there anything special I should be doing differently with her?
