I've been kind of freaked out discovering two flesh lumps on Spawn's tummy next to the bunnie's genitalia. My first suspicion was our little girl was a LITTLE BOY - but I tried to look up pictures on line and the BEST I got was photos from some surgeries and they said those were scent glands. (I was like "...ookaaayyy.") I also called the person I got the bunny from and she re-assured me the rabbit was indeed a 1-year-old female.
So, Sunday my bf and I took Spawn to the vet - and lo and behold, Spawn IS a little boy. In fact, I got him when he was a BABY - under 2 months old (or so the vet said) because we only had Spawn for about two months and I have SEEN his tummy before and his testicles weren't as pronounced. (because they dropped about a week ago) So, the vet says Spawn is LIKELY to be between four and six months old.
I was INFURIATED. Not because of my bunnie, but because of things that it meant. My friend insisted that the guy she HAD the rabbit from "caught" (or had Spawn and couldn't keep him any more) so they knew the rabbit's gender and age. But now, I'm afraid that the guy who brought the bunny over is ACTUALLY BREEDING them. I mean HOW else are you going to get your hands on two month old rabbit that was pearly white, despite the claim of being "caught" running outside. The vet said I should keep on treating the rabbit the way I was because Spawn was perfectly healthy. *knocks on wood*
I'm planning on calling my friend and telling her to YELL at the guy who gave us the rabbit. -____-. How can people be this irresponsible?
