Hi Guys! I've been having the hardest time trying to find a vet in Berlin who will fix Bandita. Apparently, in Germany it is not normal to have female rabbits fixed (or so the local vet told me). Has anyone else experienced anything like this? If I can't get her fixed will it be very bad for her health? Has anyone else not been able to go the neutering route and if so have you had any problems because of it? Thnx in advance!

Does anyone have any advice with how to deal with territoriality in bunnies?
Smirnoff has recently started getting very territorial towards me over certain places. First, it was just her cage. Which was alright, as it's her cage and she needs to be able to feel safe in there. Then it was the bottom shelf of my bookcase, where she likes to sit. I don't use that shelf, as it's in bunny reach, and so only really noticed this when I went to move her back into her cage one day.
Now, it's become my bed. Which is very annoying. She'll jump up as soon as she's let out of her cage and if I try and move her off she'll grunt and box at my hands and try and nip me. Sometimes, she's lovely and she'll jump up beside me as I'm in bed and ask for pets and lie lovely and still and other times if I try and get anywhere near her at all she'll get very moody with me and warn me away.
So far I've basically been moving her off the bed anytime she gets territorial over it, trying to get through to her that when she gets cross up there she's not allowed up there anymore.
Is that the right thing to do or should I be trying something else?
Any advice at all?
Anecdotes of your moody buns will be just as appreciated!
Thank you in advance!

After many discussions, arguments and brainstorming, my fiance and I have come to the agreement that we need to find Corrigan and Raistlin a new home.
While we both love our boys to pieces and bits, we simply don't have the time or the resources for them that they so very much deserve. It breaks our hearts, but we really need to do what's best for them.
That said, we don't want to just give them to the next person off the street. We need to know that they are going to a loving home, with people who can appreciate all their funny bunny-ness and provide them with everything that we've been unable to do. There is a brilliant local organization called 'Rabbit Rescue' that is also an option, but I thought I'd ask in this wonderful community first.
If you are interested in welcoming two sweet fuzz buns into your home, or know of someone who would be awesome bunny parents, please let us know. We are located in SW Ontario and I can drive up to 200km to bring the boys to their new home.

I lost Bernie on Halloween. I had gone to Braintree to buy him food and apply for jobs. When I came home he was hiding in the closet and wouldn't eat.
He looked like he was in pain so I called the vet and they said to bring him in. I begged a neighbour to drive me to the vet.
They gave him under the skin fluids, pain medicine, stuff for his digestive system. I took him home.
I went to a halloween party and checked on him two times, trying to get him to eat the first time.
When I came back, I tried to get him to eat some hay. He ran around the room bloated, let out a few sad heartbreaking moans while I tired to call up an emergency vet and just died.
I miss him.
It's not the same without him.
He was my best most unjudgemental friend.
I've got to stop. I don't want to cry in the library.

If anyone has tips for a better-feeling bunny that struggles, twitches, jumps, flinches, boxes, their way out of an IV I'd love to hear your advice.
I do "burrito-roll" him in a towel ...

Okay, so I have Mickey and Chester (the mini-lop english whatever and the lionhead) and after a few spats about two weeks after I got them, they've been perfectly fine with each other. Well, I think the boys finally hit puberty. No scratch that, I KNOW they've finally hit puberty. Poor Chester can't do a thing without Mickey mounting and humping the everliving daylights out of him. It was kind of obnoxious at first but now when I look over Chester I see that Mickey's been biting his ears and tearing fur out of his back. I've been treating the wounds with hydrogen peroxide but I feel so bad for Chester! They're bad bites. Mickey has also been spraying everywhere. I don't know how he does it. He was facing his cage today and I was on his left side facing a wall the cage is against and SOMEHOW his spray got on me. Just ridiculous. And gross. I figure neutering will help all of this which I plan on getting done relatively soon, but my question is...do I HAVE to get them both neutered if Mickey is the only one with the problems right now? I mean, Chester humps sometimes but he's too much of scaredy cat to keep at it. It's really only Mickey that's the problem. Has anybody only had one of two rabbits fixed before? Do you think it will cause problems?
Also, I'm planning on looking this up on rabbit.org in a sec, but I'm pretty sure it's Chester who is peeing dark orange. I'm guessing it's a bladder infection - is there anything OTC I can use or should I bring him to the vet first?
If I had a camera that worked I would post pics, sorry none for now

How do you treat a rabbit that has fleas? Is there anything safe you can use?
Help!! Thanks!

I have never penned or caged my bunnies but I'm thinking of it to cut down on the serious mess they make. From what I have experienced with a ton of fosters, bunnies tend to have better litterbox manners when in a pen/cage. I'm going to make a pen for easier clean-up.
How big of a pen/how many sq. feet should I have for my three bunnies? I am making it with [a] removable shelf/shelves. I was thinking that about 20 sq. ft with maybe a shelf [something like a hay loft, not a second level] or two would be good? But I'm not really sure.
They will still have a lot of free-run time like they normally get, but instead of being just in my bedroom at night or when I'm away, they'll be in a pen.
I sure am gonna miss being woken up with tickly whiskers..

As you will know, I got a new bunny (Beth) last week as a companion to my other bunny. There has been lots of nose-touching and sniffing, as well as eagerly following each other round. So far I have not had both out of their cages together, as I wanted to have my husband help me if things went wrong and he has had a really bad cold for the past few days.
I have had Arthur since December 2007, and in that time he has shown no aggression towards me whatsoever. In fact, he has been so loving and attention-seeking that I felt his relationship with me may be a little unhealthy - I cannot cuddle my husband while Arthur is around without him charging over and wiggling in between us - which is why I got Beth.
So this morning I was shocked at what happened. Arthur has been a bit grumpy for the past few days, but when I put my hand in to feed him he charged at it and grunted. I told him off and placed a hand across his shoulders - he then when straight down and submitted totally. I reached in to grab his bowl to put pellets in it (otherwise he gets overexcited and ends up with pellets on his head) and he charged forward and bit me, hard!
I was shocked and told him off and held him down all over again, but now I am really upset. He broke the skin on my palm and it hurts.
Why has my bunny turned from a snugglebun into a meanie? Is he jealous of Beth? What do I do?
He was neutered several months ago btw.

OK so I'm kind of frustrated and I need some help...
I got my bun about 3 weeks ago and he's awesome. He was easy to litter train, he never goes anywhere except his box, never on the floor, the carpet, etc, EXCEPT....
He's learned how to jump on my bed and he's pooped on it a couple times. At first it was a couple random poops, which I guess I didn't mind, but today he was on it and I found a poop, looked to the corner, and it was WET. He peed on the corner/side of my bed, it went down the wall, to the floor. I was so mad! He never usually does that, if he has to go he jumps back into his cage. Is there anything I can do? It's kind of hard to keep him off the bed, as he can just jump on it.
Thank you!

I just got Lucy ( the lionhead) a week ago, and Bunjie (the netherland dwarf) in late July. They're best friends, and this picture was taken just an hour after meeting. We're trying to breed them, but we're not sure if it's worked or not. Any advice on that front? We're new to the bunny world.
