so i recently changed the type of litter in my bun's litter box. it used to be pine shavings, but after reading it led to liver disease and other things, i changed to
I combined them for a while until i ran out of the pine and he did fine with that.
yesterday i ran out of the pine so i used only the new cozy comfort and he started to eat it like popcorn!
when i woke up this morning, he had taken out majority of the litter and moved it to another part of the cage. alot of it was gone so i think he ate some during redecorating.
i'm a little worried because the litter is made of wood fibers.
In conclusion, what do you guys think i should do to keep him from doing this?
and what litter's do you guys use?

В январе в нашей семье должен появиться новорожденный ребенок. В связи в этим радостным событием возникли вопросы, на сколько безопасно содержать в квартире двух кроликов? В какой комнате лучше разместить клетки и как производить уборку (я думаю отказаться от наполнителя туалета и перейти на "газетки", так как от них нет пыли).

Уважаемые товарищи-кролиководы, подскажите, как вы боретесь с линькой у ваших питомцев? Тут пару постов назад были упоминания о том, что кто-то стрижет, а кто-то бреет - можно об этом попродробнее?
Вообще линяют ли у вас зайцы?
Наш начал линять совсем недавно, видимо, от влажности и изменчивой погоды. Но это просто невозможно: весь дом уже в его шерсти, она слезает в невероятном количестве, я уже устала его вычесывать, к тому же это помогает мало.
Кролик здоровый, хорошо ест, глазки блестят, шерстка тоже. Только выпадает... Что делать?

Hmmmm I thought I had a rabbit but apparently I have a little piggy instead.
Recently Mickey has gotten into the habit of begging for food. Since the bunny room is right off the kitchen, that's their play area and whenever I'm making something to eat, who comes along to inspect? Mickey. He sit at my feet and stares up at me. If I ignore him, he attempts to jump on my lap (he succeeds sometimes). If I still ignore him, he jumps onto the table in front of me and tries to snatch the food. He's destroyed 4 of my roommate's bananas that were on a rack on the table already. I've never seen a bunny so anxious for people food in my life!
Sorry about the crappy quality. I just snapped it with my cell phone real quick. He's begging for fried rice in this picture.
Chester is good as usual. He's warming up to people more. He explores a little more. It's very nice. My friend who was his owner finally just gave him to me since I don't think she really wanted to take care of him. I'm okay with that. Chester and Mickey are buddies so it works.
Time to go. Mickey is trying to go for my spicy tuna sushi now (do rabbits like raw fish???)

Пуся у нас сам-собой переименовался в Пандусю, потому что очень стал напоминать Жирдяя Панду из "Кунг-Фу Панда" )
Вчера ездили с ним к ветеринару. Спасибо всем, кто помогал, советовал, переживал!
Сделали нам два рентгена. После первого врач сказал, что не нравится ему позвоночник Пандуси, но картинка не четкая. После второго сказал, что аномалий нет, позвоночник развит хорошо, переломов нет, просто какая-то аритмия (или хрен знает как там что в медицине называется) мышц или связок (у меня очень туго с такой терминологией).
Прописал уколы. Не обещал, что помогут, но лечить надо, а то разовьется еще что-то. Сказал, что есть вероятность, что после 2-х недельного курса уколов Пандуся сможет ходить на ножках.
Давайте все скрестим за него (нее?) пальчики и будем надеяться!
Уколы будет колоть соседка (бабушка Пандуси по отцовской линии - непробиваемая женщина)
Клиника "ЗООВЕТ" ул. 2-я Магистральная 16. Тел. 739-50-80.
Есть специалист по грызунам, вполне адекватный парень (язык не поворачивается назвать дядей). По ценам довольно дорого, за визит, два рентгена и уколы я отдала 1300 рублей. Кроме этого, предварительная запись работает через одно место, прождали с дочкой и Пандусей целый час, пока нас приняли. Но в целом приличное место, вполне все понравилось.
И немного новых фоток!
На этой фото видно, насколько сильна разница в росте у Пандуси и Муси (врач сказал, что это нормально)

I'm considering starting clicker-training with one of my rabbits, to try to correct some problematic behavior... but I have no idea where to find a clicker. XD;; Haha. Help?
Well, Pequito was doing pretty well with peeing in his litter and of course was still pooping everywhere, but today, i let him run around and ended up taking a nap on the couch. He took it upon himself to jump on me and chew and bite me but that was no problem. When i woke up, there was poop everywhere, but that was expected. What wasnt expected was pee!! He made a huge puddle on the couch. This really bummed me out because he was doing so well and his litter box was right next to the couch.
Aside from that, he's been lazy all day and just napping in his cage although it was open all day so he could run around. Back to stage one. boo

Hi! My boyfriend and I live with two house rabbits, Cadbury and Snoopy. Both are mini lops, around 3 years old. They live in a 4' x 6' room/closet that we think must have been created for a washer/dryer, but they never installed the hook-ups. The floor is carpeted, and so it makes the perfect bunny room! A long shelf runs along the back wall, made from NIC pieces, and they like to stretch out on it and survey the rest of the apartment.
We have had Cadbury since we adopted her from the Humane Society when she was just around 10 weeks old. She was found underneath someone's car in a parking lot or driveway, and was unclaimed. We got her to be a friend for our Holland lop, Bunny, but Bunny passed away earlier this year. Cadbury became pretty depressed, so we adopted Snoopy from our local rescue, the Best Little Rabit Rodent Ferret House, to be her new friend and they have bonded wonderfully. They are the most adorable couple to watch! One of Snoopy's favorite things to do is groom Caddy's face and ears, and they spend most of their time snuggling together.
And here's my insurance question. Ever since we first got Bunny and Cadbury, I've meant to enroll them in some insurance, because you never know what may happen. Well, it's been three years since we got Caddy, and I never enrolled them because I just kept forgetting and I never really looked into it, and now she has an ear infection that may end up requiring surgery. Lucky all of us. So, this just really emphasizes that I need to enroll them both into insurance, because they're only three years old and have lots of years and potential problems ahead of them. Do any of you have insurance for your bunnies? What do you recommend?

уважаемые друзья, хочу вас спросить, что может значит появившийся у моей кроли где-то с месяц, как бы нагрудничек, который весьма заметен, как такая большая складка?...может, это свидетельстуе об излишнем весе?...и что делать с этим?...или так и должно быть? и я переживаю зря?...
I recently got new bath mats and cut up my old ones to fit Sasquatch's condo. He's been chewing the bath mats and a towel some. Should I be concerned? I don't think he's ingesting any of it. He has other things to chew on-- toys and plenty of hay-- but still occasionally goes for his flooring. He's still pooping normally and everything and seems fine, but just... ehh it makes me nervous seeing pieces of shredded bath mat in his little cage.
My darling rabbit:
Just because you can see THROUGH a screen door, does not mean you can JUMP through a screen door.
You are twelve pounds of rabbit. You managed to dislodge one corner of the screen, not to mention the noise paniced your feline sisters into running for the farthest end of the house that they could go.
All right, so that part was rather funny.
And I wasn't laughing at you, when you fell back on your furry butt. Really, I was laughing at the cats. Honest.

Part the first; Empty pizza box! Remove the bottom liner so there's no cheese residue, only a bit of flour here and there. It still smells yummy though, and is made from very tough cardboard.
Part the second; Fill pizza box with timothy hay/alfalfa/veggies/various treats. Close securely.
Part the third; THROW TREAT-FILLED BOX TO THEWOLVES BUNS.
My rabbits have a new favourite toy.

Дорогие друзья, по тегам такой информации не нашла.
Кто-нибудь может посоветовать хорошего крольчачьего ветеринара в районе СВАО, желательно, дальше от центра.
Дело в том, что у одного из крольчат (две недели) все 4 лапки в разные стороны. То есть он их не поджимает под себя, а все время лежит и бегает враскорячку. Сначала тешила себя, что может лапки слабенькие, а он довольно пухленький, но теперь что-то не похоже на слабые лапки.
На этой фотографии видно:
Он и спит все время так, и ползает.
Куда бы обратиться?

I have seen the Bunny Abode condos on the leith pet werks site and thought they would be great for my two bunnies. I don't know though. are they really with the moneyyou spend on them, or can you buy other enclosures that are the same amount of room and such, but less pricy? I'm willing to shell out the money for one, but I just didn't know if they are really worth it or not. I am blind and so is my fiance, so we could not make a suitable enclosure ourselves probably and don't have any friends around here who could either.
